Connie Siska started practicing yoga 8 years ago, after undergoing kidney transplant surgery at Baylor University Hospital, Dallas, Texas (USA). Her initial reason for practicing yoga was to follow her doctor’s advice to exercise to keep healthy and maintain reasonable body weight so her new kidney would not need to work too hard. After initial self- study, she became more serious in her practice and started to attend workshops and formal teacher training. Connie holds Teacher Certification from both Radiantly Alive Yoga Teacher Training (Ubud-Bali) and Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in India and is also registered as a Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance – USA. In addition, Connie has attended workshops given by respected international yoga “Gurus” such as Dharma Mittra, David Swenson (Ashtanga), Desiree Rumbaugh (Anusara Yoga) and Sarah Powers (Insight Yoga). She is currently teaching yoga at Club Bimasena, British Women’s Association, Australian-New Zealand Women’s Association and gives private individual lessons.
